Meeting at Harry’s Hofbrau on Oct 24, 2011 President Eddie Mello called the Board to order at 7:20pm / PGPBr Manuel Drumonde led us in Prayer

Br Eddie Mello led us in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Minutes-July 25, 2011-M to accept w/corrections/ John Prouty  S/ T Fourie =Motion Passed

Communications: None at this meeting…

Bills: 1).Postage of $8.80 for Br.Tom F.; M / Prouty S/ Fourie Motion Passed.

Treasurer:Report of Sept. 30, 2011 Quarter-end was passed out by Brother Bob Bartoli-.In-file copy. Improvement in total funds for the Quarter.

M/ : accept Quarterly Reports -M/ by Tom Fourie. S/ John Prouty : Motion Passed.  

Committee Reports: None at this meeting…Pres Mello would like to see a Chairman for each Committee and that Chairman ‘choose’ 2 (two) others (anyone that he wants) on his committee and is to advise the Ed Foundation Secty/Freeberg of such names/e-mail addresses and Mailing addresses/ph#’s et al…wants Committee Reports up-to-date and ready before quarterly meetings.

Executive: Pres Eddie Mello thanked everyone for attendance = requested Secty Freeberg to E-mail everyone the ByLaws so we are all on the same page for next January 23-2012 meeting

College Scholarship Program/Matching Funds: Brother Jeff Tassey reported under the Matching Funds – and Scholarships: discussion to suspend College Scholarships for 2012 and focus on Matching Funds participation. More students benefit from Matching Funds than the limited C.S. fund –even with the $10,000. +/- in the fund it is considered prudent to grow that fund for a bit…stay within 4% of the account balance.

 Matching Funds: As noted above…+ M / Prouty S/ Fourie to continue Matching Funds program at $750.00 and suspend the College Scholarship for ‘one’ year. MOTION PASSED.

Development: Consider this “Long Term Planning”…

Distribution: Tom Davis reported as of October “5 left” – a partial list given by Br Tom Davis to Pres Eddie Mello…2 High School / 2 Grammar School / 1 College (there were two but one returned his check – all papers are up-to-date.…

Auditing: < Br Monteiro > No report at this time

Investments: John Prouty deferred to Fin Advisor Steve Davis reported fund is $229,000 from $212,000 and Murphy Fund is $20,800 instead of $19,000. +/-

By-Laws : Brother Manuel Drumonde advised No ‘recommendations’ at this time…last By Law notations, changes was 2005.

Memorials: Br Tom Fourie says DONE –“now is up-to-date”.

Unfinished Business-Members reviewed various programs < as shown with motions on Matching Funds,etc.>; + rcvd written notes from Fourie/ T.Davis / C Freeberg requesting to run for Educational Foundation Board in June 2012…

New Business: 1) “Thank You’s” TO= Frank Hepburn ; ; Ed Cullinane and all those who have served in the past.. 2). Pres Eddie wants update of Councils participating in the Matching Funds… ; 3). action item for Death Certificate forms of Y.M.I.= put a notation on the bottom of the page to state : ‘list any children living at home’

Good of the Order: 1). Secty Freeberg to ‘invite’ Past Officers of Educational Foundation to Jan 23^rd meeting; Br Tassey to invite any Judges for Essay Contest too.
