YMI Seminarian Educational Foundation


History and Purpose

The Seminarian Educational Foundation was incorporated on February 1, 2000 for the express purpose of receiving charitable gifts, donations, and bequests, to support annually the educational costs of seminarians.

The Foundation Board of Directors is composed of respected YMI members whose professions encompass the legal, investment, and administrative disciplines. They are elected from the YMI membership at large. The Directors manage the funds and operates adhering to the foundation by-laws (click here to view the by-laws).

You help support the Seminarian Educational Foundation through your donations. Your gift to this fund will aid in providing support for the seminarians in those dioceses where a YMI brother resides.

Tax Deduction

Contributions to the Seminarian Educational Foundation are deductible for purposes of:

    • Income Tax
    • Gift Tax
    • Estate Tax

The Seminarian Educational Foundation is a nonprofit tax-exempt public benefit corporation operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of the Internal Revenue Code, Section 501 (c) 3.

A letter from the Internal Revenue Service, dated January 17, 2001, recognized SEMINARIAN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION as a public foundation to which contributions may be deductible for all the above purposes on federal tax returns.

A letter from the California Franchise Tax Board, dated November 15, 2000, recognized SEMINARIAN EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION FUND as a tax-exempt organization.
